First up we listen to Steve re-tell the tale of Blitzburg Bowl. You could go a bit more extreme in some of them if you really wanted, or swap a reroll out for an Apothecary (I wouldn’t bother and would save up for one if you wanted), or an extra player. Whilst not exhaustive these are the most likely starting rosters for most players. Alternatively you can hire Akhorne to get an extra player, or if facing some slightly more developed teams you’ve got more options such as Helmut Wolf and his Chainsaw, or one of the new Lustrian Star Players. You might have enough to take a team mascot as well. This seems a bit risky but against most new teams you can likely get two Bloodweiser Kegs to help return knocked out players. I usually prefer to have at least three if I can help it, however you do have Dodge on the entire team which helps a bit (no Block is a bit of a worry but you can get it with two touchdowns on any player). Again you start without either of the Throwers but this time just taking two rerolls. Taking a leaf out of some of the Stunty teams playbooks, you could look to starting your team with a low value and making use of inducements. There’s not much to say about this one, though you might consider starting with one thrower and either saving the extra money towards an Apothecary, or starting with dedicated fans. I think this will probably be the most popular starting roster. If you think the Throwers are worth having then you can fit both of them in, giving you all the positional players and still have the funds to start with three rerolls. They also have passing access to get Leader, though as this team starts with four rerolls I don’t think you’ll need that. The better passing ability of a Thrower might be useful to have on occasion if you wanted to add one later. If you’re the kind of player who enjoys a good passing play then I would go with another starting lineup. On the Ball can be handy, but you can just as easily keep two Linewomen back for picking up a kick off. Personally I’m not sure they are worth having but I’m a passing adverse coach. On paper the Throwers seem like good value, paying an extra 30k for three skills. The obvious downside is that you don’t have any Throwers. Don’t forget that adding extra rerolls later costs double the amount of money! You might need that rerolls for rushing or one die blocks. Some teams are faster than you and some teams are stronger than you. As you can also use multiple rerolls per turn now, having four rerolls to start gives you a lot of flexibility. The team doesn’t start with Block on any players any more (down from four) and you don’t have any ball handling skills on anyone either. QTYĪs someone who likes to have a lot of rerolls this is probably the choice I would go with. Thankfully you get all the positional players in the Games Workshop Amazon team box. You’re probably always going to want to start with both Blockers and Blitzers with the rest suiting your own personal preferences. There have been some player changes and price rises which has affected the strength of your starting lineup. Late in 2022 we got the new version of the Amazon team which has had some tweaks to the old version that was around for a long time.
